WEATHERFORD -- Verna Louise Hatfield, 76, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009, at her residence in Weatherford. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of White's Funeral Home, 101 N.E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells. Burial: Willow Pond Cemetery, Mineral Wells. At Louise's request, there will be no visitation. Verna Louise Stover Hatfield was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Sanger, daughter of the late Franklin and Josie Stover. Louise loved to pray and was depended upon for saying grace over every meal. She was a devoted Christian and loved old hymns and reading, particularly her Bible. Louise was also an absolute Dallas Cowboys fan in every sense of the word and could talk sports with anyone about her favorite team. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Naymond Noah Hatfield in 2000; son, Naymond Leon Hatfield in 1955; and her parents. Survivors: Children, James Hatfield of Weatherford, Carolyn Louise Doane and husband, Dan, of Delaware, Jeanne Owen and husband, Michael, of Mineral Wells, and Sherry Riddle and husband, Carl, of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Lori Longoria and husband, Rick, of Keller, Michael Davis and wife, Miticho, of Delaware, Devin Thigpen of Olney, Becky Beck and husband, Ryan, of Jacksboro, Russell Cokenour of Mineral Wells, and Jeremy Hatfield of Mineral Wells; great-grandchildren, Erin Louise, Erica, Jennifer, Kristy, Danny, Nathaniel, Damien, and Jakob; sisters, May Carter and Betty Grant; and a host of loving family and friends.
