William Lynn Hill, 80, passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at his residence in Millsap. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Soda Springs Baptist Church, 1801 Soda Springs Road, Millsap. Burial: Soda Springs Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford. William Lynn Hill was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Woden, son of the late William McGinnis and Lucy Viola Lasater Hill. Bill married the former Catholene Coats in Nacogdoches County on Sept. 2, 1950 and together started their family. He lived in Millsap for 25 years and previously in Hurst for 22 years, where he served as an assistant leader of Boy Scout Troop 345 for many years. Bill made his career as a machinist for Bell Helicopter and retired after 38 faithful years of service. Bill honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a longtime member of Soda Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for more than 20 years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors: Wife of 58 years, Cathy Hill of Millsap; son, Gary Lynn Hill and wife, Janice, of Rio Vista; daughter, Nancy Carolyn Hill Gant and husband, David, of Weatherford; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Lewis Hill of Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
