Jessie Creamer, 91, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009. Service: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in White's Azle Chapel. Entombment: Azleland Mausoleum. Visitation: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday prior to the service. Jessie was born November 7, 1917 in Decatur to Joe and Effie Johnson and had 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She was married to Daniel Andrew (Andy) Creamer June 1, 1935. They lived in Fort Worth, and the Silver Creek, Wild Onion and New Hope areas in the 1930's and 1940's. Jessie and Andy lived and ran a farm in Boyd until 1955 when they moved to Reno. They operated a grocery store and service station until 1974. She and her husband helped incorporate Reno, where he was Mayor for 24 years. She and Andy helped start the Reno Fire Department, and she helped with the begining of the Fire Department's Ladies Auxillary. Jessie also cooked at Reno School. She was a Charter member of New Hope Baptist Church, in the New Hope area and also taught Sunday School for many years at the Briar Baptist Church, and was later a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Reno and Woodland West Baptist Church, where her grandson was pastor, and currently a member of Grace Baptist Church in Arlington. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as the rest of her family and friends. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Andy. Survivors: children, Kenneth Creamer and wife, Joann of Arlington, and Jerry Creamer of Fort Worth, and close friend Bob Lewis; grandchildren, Michelle Canton and husband, Mark, Dr. Barry Creamer and wife, Joan of Arlington; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Johnson and wife, Ouida of Ponder; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends.
