Billy relocated to Weatherford in 1972 and retired as plant superintendent for Fruehauf Trailer Corp. in 1990. Billy was volunteering at the Texas Pythian Home when the board of directors asked him to work as maintenance supervisor of the home. After working at the children's home for 17 years he retired again. A quiet man who loved his Lord and Savior, Billy was quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. Billy was supreme district deputy grand chancellor after he served as grand chancellor of the state of Texas. In addition, Billy served on the board of directors of the Pythian Guest House in Greenville and on the board of the Texas Pythian Home in Weatherford. He received one of the highest honors in the order, the Humanitarian Award from the Supreme Lodge of the United States and British Columbia.
