WEATHERFORD -- Melvin Edward Clark, 71, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, surrounded by family at his residence in Weatherford. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Willow Park Baptist Church, 129 S. Ranch House Rd., Aledo. Burial: Annetta Cemetery, Highway 5, north of Airport Road, Annetta. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford. Melvin Edward Clark was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Weatherford, son of the late Edward and Opal Mae Revell Clark. He married Shirley Ann Phillips on April 10, 1960, in Weatherford, and together started their family. Melvin loved to play the piano and guitar with his son, Scott, and led music at Hilltop Baptist Church for many years. He was an avid golfer and his kids were the reason he lived. Melvin was a father in every since of the word and never missed anything his kids were involved in. He was a member of Willow Park Baptist Church. Melvin was preceded in death by his son, Scott Clark in 2008; his parents; father and mother-in-law; and sister-in-law, Mickey Tuley. Survivors: Wife, Shirley Clark; daughter, Shana Livingston and husband, Scott; daughter-in-law, Carla Clark; Tonya Westmoreland and husband, Chance, all of Weatherford; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Joyce Lewelling and husband, Louis, Lanette Bair, all of Weatherford; Larea Pippen and husband, Ronnie, of North Richland Hills; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
