John Michael Swortz, Jr., 51, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 inFort Worth with his family by his side. Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Dec. 1 in White's Azle Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at White's Azle Funeral Home. John was born October 3, 1958 in Luzerne City, PA. to John A. and Theresa Hellauer Brislin Swortz. John grew up in Pennsylvania.After meeting Gayla, he made many trips to see her. Finally, he moved to the Azle/Springtown area on the chance that he would be able to have a life with her and her children. He dearly loved his family and always thought of them first. John was devoted to hischildren's many activities, coaching Azle Youth football, baseball and supported their acting careers. Family traditions were veryimportant to John. He and wife, Gayla were always together enjoying life's daily activities. John also enjoyed watching NASCAR racingand was a great cook. He earned two college degrees and was employed with Altech Industries in Waxahachie as an electricalengineer. John was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: loving wife, Gayla Swortz of Springtown/Azle; sons, Chance and wife, Morgan of Azle, Trent of Azle, J.C. of Azle;daughter, Chelsie of Azle; son, Michael Swortz of PA.; special granddaughter, Cayleigh; sisters, Jackie and Chrissy; brothers; Danand Joey; loving mother-in-law, Carolyn West; special aunts, Nancy and Edie; also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
