Ross Burton Murray

Ross B. Murray, 48, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at a hospital in Dallas, after complications from a bone marrow transplant. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Weatherford. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation. Ross was born July 26, 1961 in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Richard B. Murray and the late, Meta Amelia Ulferts Murray. He was the oldest of seven siblings. Ross graduated from Anamosa High School in 1979. On June 9, 1988 he married the love of his life, Jill Denise Johns. In 1994 Ross and Jill were blessed with the birth of the second love of his life, his daughter Tara. Ross was employed by Siemens Company in Arlington. His passion was riding horses and being involved with his daughter's activities. Ross was preceded in death by his mother, Meta Amelia Ulferts Murray; paternal grandparents, Charles (Ed) Murray and Eunice (Helen) Murray; and maternal grandparents, Emil and Minnie Ulferts. Survivors include his wife, Jill Murray; daughter, Tara Murray; and father, Richard Murray; siblings, Ann, Elizabeth, Bryan, Megan, Jesse, Kristina, and Katelyn; and numerous other family members and friends.
