L. B. Tharp, 79, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009 in Fort Worth.Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Birchman Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth.Interment: Ballew Springs Cemetery in Parker County.L. B. Tharp was born April 23, 1930 to Wallace Brown and Clema Qualls Tharp in Altus, Oklahoma. He had lived in the local area for 50 years and was an active member of the Birchman Avenue Baptist Church. L. B. was a proud U. S. Navy veteran and retired from General Motors Corp.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Birchman Avenue Baptist Church of Fort Worth, in his memory.L. B. was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Edward Brown Tharp, and a grandson, Christopher Brown Tharp.Survivors: Wife, Loreine of Fort Worth; sons, Raymond Tharp and wife, Tina of Montgomery, Gary Walker and wife, Rainy of Midland; daughters, Joyce Gibbs of Las Vegas, Nevada, Laura Wilson and husband, Forrest of Tyler and Karen Tharp of Montgomery; brother, Jerry Wayne Tharp and wife, Brenda; sister, Connie Sue Maddox and husband, Jim; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a large church family and many loving friends.
