Thomas Charlton Mason

SPRINGTOWN -- Thomas Charleton Mason, 53, a loving husband, father and brother, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, in Abilene. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Adell Community Fellowship. Interment: Peaster Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home. Thomas was born June 14, 1956, in Germany to Thomas and Elda Mason. He had resided in Abilene for about 18 months, having moved there from Parker County. He served as a major in the 20th Special Forces Group Airborne, U.S. Army. Thomas was a graduate of Texas A&M University and practiced veterinary medicine for the past 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Thomas Jackson Mason in 1993. Survivors: Wife, Cathy Mason of Springtown; sons, Travis Mason of Fort Worth, Nathan Mason and John Mason, both of Springtown; brother, Steve Mason of Fort Worth; and numerous friends and acquaintances.
