Alton Harlow, 63, passed away peacefully March 18, 2010 at his residence surrounded by loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Celebration of Life: 2:00 pm Monday, March 22, 2010 at White's Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 3 to 5 pm, Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Al was born December 28, 1946 in Early County, Georgia to Alto and Eva Harlow. He was retired from the United States Army after 23 years of service. Al enjoyed fishing and wood working, especially building stagecoaches. He loved the outdoors. Al was happiest surrounded by friends and family, telling stories, and making people smile. Al was preceded in death by his parents and wife Jane. Survivors: son, Greg Owens and wife Debbie; daughters, Melinda Roberts and LaDonna Casey; grandchildren, Whitney Paschal, Drew Sells, Courtney Cantrell, Miranda Larrison, and Shelby Casey; sisters, Gail Locklear and Linda Hodges; brothers, James Harlow and Thomas Harlow; three great grandsons; nieces; nephews; cousins; and especially his many close, loving friends.
