Margaret Helen Ritchey, 90, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010, at her daughter's home in Signal Mountain, TN. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Springtown Cemetery.Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown.Margaret was born in Knob Hill, Texas on August 12, 1919 to Bill and Atris Wilkerson. She graduated from Springtown High School in 1934 and went on to graduate from North Texas State College. Margaret then began a 38 year teaching career, most of which was in Springtown. She married Otis (Cot) Ritchey in 1944. Cot, a retired Lt. Col. in the Air Force and a Springtown businessman, preceded her in death 1978. Margaret retired from Springtown High School in 1985. She loved her family, friends, and all her former students in Springtown. Margaret will be buried next to Cot and her infant daughter, Patsy Jo, in the family plot at Springtown Cemetery.Margaret and Cot had one surviving daughter, Nancy Ritchey Preslar, and her husband, Jacky. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Kelly Preslar and Thuy Jimenez and husband, Hector and a great grandson, Christopher Jacob Jimenez, all of Signal Mountain, TN. Other surviving family members include her sister, Mildred Vick; nieces, Linda Brown and husband, Ronnie and Jane Crawford and husband, Art, all of Fort Worth; great nephews, Joe Crawford and wife, Kerri of Azle and Tommy Brown and wife, Stacy of Dallas; great nieces, Tammy Frazier and husband, Larry of Fort Worth and Vicky Trichel and husband, Gerry of Springtown; six great-great nephews; and many devoted friends and grateful students.
