HURST -- Mary Jim Wilson, 78, a devoted wife, loving mother and beloved grandmother, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010, at home. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. Interment: Goshen Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mary Jim Meador was born Nov. 14, 1931, in Chico, and graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School in 1949. She married Edgar A. Wilson on May 7, 1950. The Wilsons lived in Tarrant County thoughout their adult lives, moving to Hurst in 1963, where Mary resided until her death. At Carter Riverside High School, she was an ROTC officer, where she became an expert marksman with a 22-caliber pistol. She was a member of the Panther City Archery Club and co-owned Owl Archery with Edgar. She also was a member of a local CB radio club, where she got her handle "Ramblin Rose". Mary worked at Buddie's Bakery locations in Fort Worth and in Hurst. She also worked in the insurance industry early in her marriage before becoming a stay-at-home mother to raise her three sons, James, Lawrence and Rodger. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Her father, James Meador, was an elder at 23rd and Grace Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, helping construct the building when the church was founded. She was a member of Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills at the time of her death. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, and her son, Lawrence Amos. Survivors: Sons, James Edgar Wilson and Rodger Clinton Wilson and wife, Katharine; daughter-in-law, Cindy; grandchildren, Matthew, Chris, Justin, Meghan and Andrew; and seven great-grandchildren.White's Funeral Home Springtown, 817-220-7111
