Homer Edwin Yandell

Homer "Eddie" Yandell, 76, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010. Service: 1:30 pm Wednesday at North Side Baptist Church. Interment: Community Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. Homer E. Yandell was born the son of William and Bonnie Goodgion Yandell on September 7, 1933 in Floydada. He graduated from high school in Honey Grove. Mr. Yandell served four years in the U. S. Air Force. He was a helicopter pilot for 15 years, and retired from the US Postal Service in Weatherford after 20 years of service. Eddie was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and an active member of North Side Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Billy Frank Yandell. Survivors: wife, Shirley Jean Yandell; son, Michael Yandell and wife, Patricia; daughter, Vickie Sanders and husband, Lee; sister, Mary Hudgens and husband, Jerry; and grandchildren, William, Frances, and Matthew Yandell, and Cristopher and Ashley Valdez; and step-granddaughter, Jessi Sanders.
