Ruth Pegues Walker

SPRINGTOWN -- Ruth Pegues Walker, 88, passed away June 11, 2010 in Decatur. Service of Remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m. June 23rd at First United Methodist Church in Springtown. Inurnment: Walker Cemetery in Marshall County,AL. Ruth was born May 21, 1922 in Marshall County Alabama to William David and Anna Viola Manley Pegues. She was the retired owner of Ruth's Beauty Shop in Chattanooga, TN. Ruth was the 11th of 12 children in her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Springtown. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, George Franklin Walker; and ten siblings. Survivors: daughter, Judith Anna; son-in-law, Freddrick L. Long; granddaughter, Kristi Suzanne Long and her husband, Matthew A. Nadelhaft; grandson, Freddrick Walker Long and wife, Janna; great-grandchildren, Spenser,Jacob, Sydney, Sebastian, Meaghan and husband, Colton, and Justin; great-great- granddaughter, McKenzie; brother, William David Pegues; many nieces and nephews.
