Hazel "Ms. Rose" Philley went to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, June 13, 2010. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Clear Fork Baptist Church. Entombment: 2:00 pm Thursday at Memory Gardens of the Valley Mausoleum. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. Hazel was born march 15, 1931 in Moundsville, West Virginia the daughter of Virgil and Geneva Stotts. She enjoyed 35 years in a loving and joyful marriage with her first husband, Charles R. Careway. They were members of several square dance clubs and bowling leagues in Canton, Ohio until his death, March 4, 1981. Hazel moved to Weatherford in June of 1988. She worked at Peach Tree Nursing Home and Best Western Motel. Hazel was introduced to George C. Philley by her son. They became quick friends and were married October 19, 1990. Mrs. Philley soon became a member of Clear Fork Baptist Church. She knew she as home and made so many loving and lasting friends there. Hazel taught in the nursery for many years and enjoyed participating in many functions at Clear Fork over the years. Mrs. Philley is preceded in death by husband, Charles R. Careway; son, Charles R. Careway, Jr in 2005; second husband, George C. Philley in 2007; sister, Louise Combs; and brother, John Stotts in 2010. Survivors include, daughter, DeVonna Tinskey and husband, Tim; granddaughters, Vonda Careway of Oroville, Calif., Dixie Davis and husband, Del of W. Des Moine Iowa, Keli Guilbeau and husband, Thomas of Weatherford; great-grandchildren, Richard Webster Jr., Lita Webster, Kayla, Ronnie, Ruby, and TJ Guilbeau; great-great-grandson, Ransom Slade Webster; brother, Oscar Stotts; sisters, Lou Bonuales, Dee Kosunick, Oda Stotts; and many nieces and nephews.
