Lana Tibbitts, 66, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Ft. Worth. Funeral: 10 am, Thursday, at the First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Interment will follow at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Lana was born on November 15, 1943 to R. J. and Nettie Ford. She married Bill Tibbitts on December 25, 1964. Lana lived most of her life in Weatherford except for a few years in Mineral Wells. She worked for Southern Airways of Texas, Inc. and was administrative Deputy District Clerk for District Judge Harry Hopkins. She served as the District Clerk of Parker County for eighteen years, retiring January 1, 1999. Lana was a member of the Open Door Class at the First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Lana was preceeded in death by her parents and step-daughter, Eva Leahy. Survivors: husband of 46 years, Billy Max; daughters, Becky Peoples and husband, Gary, Susan Stirewalt and husband, Barry, Nancy Plumlee and husband, Stephen; step-daughter, Lana Mazur of Pittsburgh, PA; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church of Weatherford Building Fund.
