WEATHERFORD -- Colin Handyside, 75, a retired senior master sergeant, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 100 Spring Creek Road, Weatherford. Inurnment: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Colin Frederick Handyside, loving husband, father and grandfather, was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Berkshire, United Kingdom, son of the late Walter H. and Olive Skipper Handyside. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and retired after more than 27 years of dedicated service. Colin was a longtime resident of Weatherford. He loved reading American history and was an avid war historian. Colin was predeceased by two sons; his parents; and a brother. Survivors: Wife, Frances Handyside of Weatherford; son, Paul Frazier of China Springs; daughters, Paula Elliott of Victoria, Pamela Frazier McMahon of Keller and Robin Handyside of Oklahoma; son, Jerry Handyside of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; dogs, Pepper and Taylor; a host of loving family and friends.
