Joe Wayne Morris

July 15, 1946 — September 15, 2010

WILLOW PARK -- Joe Wayne Morris, consummate good guy and Christian friend to many, unexpectedly left this world to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at his home in Willow Park. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Clear Fork Baptist Church, 100 Ragle Road, Weatherford. Burial: Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd., Irving. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Morris family requests contributions in Joe's name to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas 75219. Joe was a 35 year resident of Irving and was moving towards retirement in Willow Park. As a journeyman electrician he was a wonderful "Johnny-in-the-spot" and servant to friends and family. "Jack of all trades" and master of none was his slogan whether serving his neighbors or family. Classified a 4-F in the military, he would have loved to serve his country but was denied. He was a devout car enthusiast and loved NASCAR and drag racing. He always said his greatest assets were his friends. A true and faithful husband and loving father. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Mozell Morris; his father, Joel B. Morris; and sister, Shirley Higgs. Survivors: Wife, Jan Morris; son, Jace Morris and wife, Candice, all of Willow Park; siblings, Louise Mann of Sacramento, Calif., Helen Slate of Palestine, Richard Webb of Willow Park, Kenneth Morris of Southlake, Judy Haltom of Springtown, Bobby Morris of Irving, Betty Gonzales of Weatherford; and grandson, Zack Morris. White's Funeral Home Weatherford, 817-596-4811
