SPRINGTOWN -- Dena Ann Brasier Castleman, 35, loving mother, wife, sister and friend, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Graveside service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 24th at Goshen Cemetery Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main Street, Springtown. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations in Dena's memory can be made to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Dena was born March 16, 1975 in Wheatridge, Colorado to Darrell and Brenda Taylor Brasier. After high school, she moved to Texas with her mother and attended West Texas A & M University where she majored in Environmental Science. Prior to leaving work on disability, she worked for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality as a water quality compliance inspector. Dena was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She had a wonderful fun-loving spirit and was an inspiration to everyone around her. Dena battled breast cancer for eleven years and never lost her beautiful smile. Her hobbies included quilting, bird-watching, gardening and family. Dena was a member of several quilt guilds, enjoyed community service and volunteered for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life committee in Springtown. Mere words cannot express the gratitude Dena's family has for the many friends and family that have contributed to their care over the years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rudy and Dean Taylor and great aunt Buelah Flynn of Pampa. Survivors: husband, Tom; daughter, Amanda; mother, Brenda Taylor; sisters, Melanie Peery and husband, Sammy, of Amarillo and Kari Wilson and husband, Joel, of Shiprock, New Mexico; nieces, Alana, Maddy and Abby; nephews, Blake, Joshua and Hayden; in-laws, Jim and Pauline Castleman, Stephanie and Ken Raney of Paris, and Karen and Alan Harris of Dallas.
