WEATHERFORD -- Virginia Thoma Hasley went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 7, 2010. Funeral: 10 a.m., Thursday at North Side Baptist Church. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Mrs. Hasley was born in Breckenridge December 5, 1922 to Lottie Jane Tiner and Otto Wald Thoma. She was the eighth of nine children. The family moved to Weatherford in 1935. Virginia graduated from Weatherford High School in 1940. She married Claude Truett Hasley on November 10, 1940 and would have celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. They lived in Weatheford for many years and retired to Granbury. Mrs. Hasley was retired as the Personnel Officer for the Fifth Army Corp of Engineers which covered a five state area. She received the second highest award for civilians given by the Dept. of the Army. She was chosen to head up the personnel office in Israel when an airfield was built and lived there for nine months. Mrs Hasley was active in First Baptist Church of Granbury, where she taught and served as head of the finance committee. She returned to Weatherford and North Side Baptist Church and was a member there. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Mamie Thoma Norris, Thelma Thoma Snow, Frank Thoma, George Thoma, James Otto Thoma, Connajean Thoma and Kathleen Thoma. Survivors: husband, Claude Truett Hasley; son, Michael Truett Hasley and wife, Sharon; daughter, Sandra Jo Hasley Tanner and husband Jerry Don; grandchildren, Tracy Lee Tanner, Jerry Christopher Tanner, Bradley Michael Hasley, Brian Paul Hasley, and Jeffrey Sean Hasley; great-grandchildren, Daniel Jordan Tanner, Andrew Colin Tanner, Caitlan Elyse Tanner, Kyle Christopher Tanner, Brandon Michael Hasley, Dylan Paul Hasley, Zachary Conner Hasley, Nicholas Tyler Hasley, and Daniel Sean Hasley; sister, Patsy Ruth Thoma Brady; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
