Jim Thompson, 78, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010, at a local hospital. Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Sat., Nov. 27th at South Side Church of Christ. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at White's Funeral Home, 101 N. E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells. Jim was born May 10, 1932 in Anson. He had lived in this area for 35 years. Jim was a member of South Side Church of Christ in Mineral Wells. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of service with the rank of Master Sargent. Jim protected our country during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Janice Boring Thompson; children, Cindy Clark and husband, Freddy, of Weatherford, Wanda Gresham and husband, David, of Weatherford and Scott Thompson and wife, Tracey, of Burleson; grandchildren, Randy, Christi, Jesse, Darren, Clint, Lauren, Dani, Brayden and Kaylen; seven great-grandchildren; twin brother, Jack Thompson; sister-in-law, Martha Thompson; nieces, Holly Collins and Rhonda Boaz; step brother, Billy Don Womack; step sister, Burl Rye; many loving church members and friends.
