Millsap -- Georgia Alberta Smith, 82, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at her home in Millsap. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday in Brock Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: The Smith family suggests contributions in Georgia's name to your favorite charity. Georgia Alberta Smith was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Cassville, Mo., daughter of the late Ashley Chester and Ollie Flora Alexander Mixon. She married Billy Joe Smith in Plainview on Dec. 16, 1949, and they began their life together. Georgia attended TCU, where she was elected Homecoming Queen and subsequently Coming Home Queen 20 years later. She was involved with numerous social and civic groups, namely, Junior Woman's Club, where she received the Bevy Award, and The Woman's Club of Fort Worth, where she was a member of the Aquarius Section. Georgia was an honorary member of the Big 10 of Arlington Heights High School, Spurs Bible Group, and the Salvation Army. She was also a Bible Study Fellowship leader in Fort Worth. Over the years, Georgia had an association with Christ Chapel Bible Church of Fort Worth, Grace Community Fellowship of Weatherford and The Gathering of Brock. She was also very proud of her involvement with the DAR and Daughters of the Confederacy. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Agatha Neergaard, Freda Stinson and Helen DeBona. Survivors: Husband, Billy Joe Smith of Weatherford; sons and their wives, Boston and Cindy, Coke and Tracy, Mixon and Amy, and Bo and JoAnne; grandchildren, Boston, Angie, Courtney, Shannon, Billy Joe, Kendall, Bowen, Coke Marshall, Callie, Tabor, Cody, Hunter and A.J.; great-grandchildren, Naudia, Loudon, Georgia, Emmerson and Adam; sister, Mary Kirchhoff; and a host of loving family and friends.
