Johnny Leon Hukill, Sr., 79, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010 in Azle. Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Monday, Dec. 20 at Victory Christian Center Church, Azle.Johnny was born May 29, 1931 in Fort Worth to the late John Phillip and Mary Brown Hukill. He grew up on the North Side of Fort Worth until moving to Azle where he graduated in 1949 as a football and basketball star. Johnny served in the United States Navy stationed in Iceland as a sailor on a mine sweeper and also was the barber on the base. After leaving his service he moved back to Azle and began a career of barbering that lasted over 50 years. He enjoyed all his many clients over the years and really enjoyed all the shop talk, never to be one at a loss for words. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends and Azle will dearly miss him. Survivors: wife, Rachel Deville Hukill of Azle; sons, Johnny L. Hukill, Jr. of Azle; Clay P. Hukill of North Richland Hills; daughter, Kristin M. Woodhull of Benbrook; stepsons, Rusty Cooper and Phillip Cooper of Azle; grandchildren, Samantha, Cameron, Savanah, Iggh, Kimberly and Kyle; and three great-grandchildren.
