Jack W. McKinster, 89, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, surrounded by family in Weatherford. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens of the Valley. Jack W. McKinster was born Dec. 5, 1921, in El Reno, Okla., the youngest of three to the late James William and Jessie Lee Bright McKinster. He married the former Irene Smith in North Carolina on Nov. 7, 1943, and they began their life together. Jack made his career as a cattle buyer in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas. He was recognized as the top cattle buyer in the country by an industry magazine before retirement. Jack and Irene had a very full life traveling and spent their winters in Pharr. He loved to play games and would play pool at the Weatherford Senior Center until his health would no longer permit. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Lee McKinster; and sister, Margaret Jensen.
