Ina Ruth Melson Andrews

WEATHERFORD -- Ruth Andrews, 94, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, in Plano. Graveside service: Noon Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, Okla. A memorial service will be held in Weatherford at a later date. Ina Ruth Melson was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Oklahoma City, Okla., daughter of the late Roger Q. and Myrl Pope Melson. She attended Oklahoma State University and the Cadet Nurse Corps. Ruth made her career as a registered nurse and retired from St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after 35 years of dedicated service in pediatrics and neonatology. Her passion was caring for newborn children. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kennedy Andrews in 1975; and daughter, Sheryl Odell Hawthorne in 1991. Survivors: Son, Stewart Odell and wife, Elise, of Dallas; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Andrews Gregoire of Asheville, S.C.; Meredith McMunn of Windham, Conn.; and a host of loving family and friends.White's Funeral Home Weatherford, 817-596-4811
