Frances Ruth Wilson

BOYD -- Frances Ruth Wilson, 92, passed away Jan. 7, 2011. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Chapel, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. Interment: Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Frances Wilson was born July 25, 1918, near Cottondale, to parents James Loyd and Ella Frances Read Bivens. She married Thomas Jefferson (Hack) Wilson, also from Cottondale, on Christmas Eve, 1938. The couple moved to land south of Boyd and established the farm that they would work together until Tom's death in 1987. Frances continued to farm, raise cattle and oversee operation of Wilson Farm on her own well into the twenty-first century. Survivors: Her children, Gloria Bedford and husband, Melvin, of Springtown, Thomas Wilson and wife, Margie, of Boyd and Treva Wilson of Fort Worth; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
