WHITE SETTLEMENT -- N.E. Charles, 90, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in White Settlement. Cryptside service: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens of the Valley Mausoleum, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the Charles family suggests contributions in N.E.'s memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 101 Summit Ave., #300, Fort Worth, Texas 76102-2610. Nevelyn Eldon Charles was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Aledo, a son of the late Joseph Albert and Mattie Gertrude Young Charles. He honorably served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. N.E. was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Charles; his parents; and brother, Robert Charles. Survivors: Son, Eldon Zakris and wife, Sharon, of Garland; daughters, Barbara O'Donnell and husband, John, of Fort Worth and Wanda Charles and boyfriend, Al Dunlap, of Fort Worth; grandson, Tommy O'Donnell and wife, Kaye, of Benbrook; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Tiffany and Ashley; one great-great-granddaughter; and sister-in-law, Maxine Charles of Hurst.
