Betty Franklin Rushton

Betty Franklin Rushton, 72, a retired R.N., passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 600 N.W. 6th St., Mineral Wells. Betty was born September 12, 1938 daughter of the late Horace and Julia Elkins in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She retired as R.N. House Supervisor from Palo Pinto General Hospital. Mrs. Rushton was also a Registered Nurse for Integra Care Hospice. She was a member of the Episcopalian Altar Guild and the Mineral Wells Bowling League. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Rushton in 1999. Survivors include her son, Billy Rushton and wife, Brenda of Mineral Wells; daughter, Judy Dunsworth and husband, Joe of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Dunsworth and Jessica Rushton; sister, Pat Shearer and husband, Ed; brother, Dan Elkins and wife, Leslie; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
