Ruby L. Grizzard

Ruby Lee Stephens Grizzard, 94, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend departed this life on Friday, April 8, 2011 to be with her Lord.Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 11 at White's Azle Chapel, 105 Denver Trail, Azle. interment: Azleland Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at White's Azle Funeral Home.Ruby was born in Navarro County, February 6, 1917. She married her sweetheart, Odwin Grizzard in 1936. They were married for 55 years, until his death in 1991. They moved to Azle in 1953.Odwin and Ruby were charter members of the Honey Do Sam's Camping Club for many years and had wonderful times with their dear friends. They were charter members of Azle Assembly of God Church.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the residents and staff of Eagle Crest Villa whom she dearly loved, Community Hospice in Burleson and Margaret Henson, her caregiver in her final days. Ruby was also preceded in death by her oldest son, Jimmy Grizzard.Survivors: sons, Rayford Grizzard and David Grizzard and wife, Phyllis; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of loving friends.
