Joseph "Joe" Brantley Wiley, 86 passed away Monday, April 18, 2011, in Forsyth, Mo. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Friday in Aledo-Brown Cemetery, Aledo. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.Joe was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Aledo, to John Brantley and Mary Bell Wiley. He married his childhood sweetheart, Billie Grace Carver, on July 20, 1944. Joe was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy in the Pacific. He was attached to Task Force 31 as a member of the Tokyo Bay Occupation Force, participated in the initial landing and occupation of the Tokyo Bay area and the capture of the HIJMS Nagato, which act symbolized the unconditional and complete surrender of the Japanese Navy. After retirement, Joe and his wife, Billie Grace moved to Mesa, Ariz. and later to Forsyth, Mo. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Thomas Wiley; and grandson, Dustin Thomas Wiley.Survivors include his wife, Billie Grace Wiley of Forsyth, Mo.; sons, Jerry Wiley and wife, Pat, of Fort Worth, Randy Wiley and wife, Virginia, of Forsyth, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Donna Wiley; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends.
