James Willie Greene, Jr., 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed into the arms of Jesus, Saturday, June 25, 2011, with his family by his side.Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1313 S. E. Parkway, Azle.Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth.Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle.Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be shared with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Azle.James Willie Greene, Jr. was born on December 24, 1938 at Pointe Pleasant, Town of Plaquemine, Parish of Iberville, Louisiana to Reverend James Willie and Julia Mitchell Greene, Sr. Jim accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 12 and was baptized in the Mississippi River by his father. As a testimony to God's grace and mercy, Jim remained active in the Church through stewardship, evangelism and bible study. Jim's life is a reflection of his love for Christ, family and his fellow man.Jim left his home state of Louisiana in 1962 and moved to Santa Ana, California. In 1964, he married Josie Mae Lewis of New Orleans, Louisiana. Together they raised five children. In 2005, they moved to Azle to enjoy their retirement.Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Santa Ana, California where he served as Elder for over 35 years. In 2005, Jim and Josie became members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where Jim again served as Elder. He humbly served the Lord through several Christian ministries which included the Lutheran Cursillo and the Kairos Prison Ministries. Jim studied and completed a certification in evangelism through S.E.A.N. (Study by Extension for All Nations). "What you have heard from me...entrust to others, so that they may be able to teach others also" 2 Timothy 2:2.An avid fisherman, Jim was a member of the King Fisher's Angling Club of Orange County for over 35 years. He was an active supporter and participant of the business, academic and athletic endeavors of his children and grandchildren; raising them all in the way in which they must go.Jim retired from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in 2000. He was the owner of Big "G" Water Trucks, Big "G" Screen and Glass, and a partner in a wood working business.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend James Willie Greene, Sr. and Julia Mitchell Greene, his brother, Peter Greene, his sister, Josephine Edwards, and his son, Gil Wendell Greene.Jim leaves to cherish his legacy, his beloved wife of 46 years, Josie Mae Greene of Azle; children, Gregory Wade Greene of Killeen, Gaylind Rai Greene of Santa Ana, California, Gaylord Wayne Greene and wife, Roxana, of West Point, New York, Geoff Willie Greene and wife, Ofelia, of Aliso Viejo, California; brothers, Roland Greene and wife, Gwen, of Santa Ana, California, Melvin Greene and wife, Julia, of Anaheim Hills, California; sister, Gloria Williams of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren, Cadet Laivan Morgan Greene of West Point, New York, Kaelynn Mae Greene of Corona, California, Gregory Deonte Greene of Killeen, MiKayla Korin Greene, Mayah Kandace Greene, McKinley Gil Greene and Mason Patrick Greene, all of West Point, New York, and Addison Lynn Greene of Aliso Viejo, California; two sisters-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, loved ones and Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
