Gloria "Jan" Kearns

SPRINGTOWN -- Gloria "Jan" Kearns, 65, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011, surrounded by family in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at La Junta Baptist Church, 5207 East Highway 199, Springtown. Interment: Aledo-Brown Cemetery, Aledo. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 401 North Main St., Springtown. Gloria "Jan" Kearns was born Feb. 14, 1946, in Aledo, daughter of the late Alvin and Inez Niblett Bennett. She was a member of the Aledo High School class of 1964 and made her career as a paralegal. Jan worked for the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office for more than 20 dedicated years and retired in 2008. She loved cooking and shopping but her grandkids were her biggest joy. Jan lived in Aledo her entire life until moving to Springtown in 2007. She attended La Junta Baptist Church. Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kearns, in 1989; and her parents. Survivors: Daughter, Shelly Morgan and husband, Tracy, of Springtown; grandchildren, Alyssa, Grayson, and Daniel; brothers, Jim Bennett and wife, Jean, of Aledo, and Greg Bennett and wife, Michele, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
