Jess E. Hall Jr. passed away quietly Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation: 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home. Jess enlisted in the Army Air Corps at the onset of World War II and flew in Canada and Alaska. He returned to Texas after the end of the war and entered into the oilfield business with his father and three brothers. In 1948 Jess founded Weatherford Oil Tool Co., which today is known as Weatherford International, a global company employing over 50,000 people. After retiring from the presidency of Weatherford Oil Tool, Jess founded Jess Hall's Seasoned Salt Co. in 1975. Throughout his life, Jess maintained an intense love for aviation and his family.
