Ellis Edward Foster, 78, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011. Graveside service: (private) Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Weatherford Little League, Box 941, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Ellis was born in Panora, Iowa, on April 2, 1933, the son of Alonzo Samuel and Julia Mae Foster. He was a 1951 graduate of Perry High School. Ellis was a longtime resident of Weatherford. Ellis served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Postal Service for a combined total of more than 50 years. Mr. Foster was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed baseball cards, bowling and coin collecting. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Vernon Foster. Survivors: Wife, Lois J. Foster; son, James E. Foster and wife, Lisa, of Burleson; daughter, Mary L. Crabb and husband, Bobby, of Weatherford; sister, Georgia C. Foster; grandchildren, Jeremy W. Crabb and wife, Tiffany, of Fort Worth, Dustin Foster and fiancee, Courtney, of Burleson and Jennifer L. Crabb of Weatherford; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Makayla, Connor and Kyleigh; and numerous friends and acquaintances.
