MINERAL WELLS -- Nora Barnum, 77, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Mineral Wells. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday in White's Funeral Chapel, 101 N.E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells. Interment: Palo Pinto Cemetery. Visitation: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Nora Lee Thompson was born April 22, 1934, in Duffield, Va., the third of eight children to the late Loyd Patton and Nanny Adams Thompson. Nora was involved with Girl Scout Brownies, little league, and the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post 2399. She also loved to shop and had very good taste. Nora was preceded in death by her husbands, Forest Pete Medlin and Melvin Barnum; son, Ricky Medlin; brother Cecil; and sister, Stella. Survivors: Daughter, Kathy Davis and husband, Dave, of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Robert Davis of Mineral Wells, Jason Davis of Fort Worth, David Davis of Fort Worth, Mark Davis and wife, Lisa, of Weatherford, Jeremy Medlin of El Paso, and Kristie Hayes and husband, Andrea, of Fort Worth; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Cox, Marcella Bolling, Donna Myers, Evelyn Porter, Gertie Sybert, and Frances Watts; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Maxine Shupp and husband, David, of Cool; and a host of loving family and friends.
