Ronnie Mack Carter

November 16, 1949 — August 23, 2011

Ronald Mack Carter, known to his numerous friends and family as Ronnie, completed his battle with cancer on August 23, 2011. Ronnie was born on Route 66 in Amarillo, TX where he was loved and raised by George and Ora Eudene Carter. In 1962 he moved to Weatherford, TX where he resided for 49 years. During his life, Ronnie accomplished tremendous adventures and inspired many to do great things. Among his adventures; managing a family Exxon service station and drag racing hot rods, many dedicated years in the Weatherford Fire Department and several years as volunteer Fire Chief where he helped the organization transition from all volunteer to a professional fire service, the raising of an excellent and loving family, a long and fruitful career as a customer relations manager at Lockheed Martin where he was able to travel the world and entertain many foreign nations' highest dignitaries, and in his free time enjoyed the stewardship of God's land on his farm in Brock, TX where his family roots lie. He also continued to inspire happiness by entertaining as Elwood Blues of the Blues Brothers throughout the area. Ronnie is survived by his wife Elaine Carter, son and daughter-in-law 2LT Austin McNelly & Jennifer Page Carter, Brother-in-law Malcolm Williamson and wife Pat, Blues Brother Milton Lewallen and wife Jenny, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and hundreds of wonderful friends across the spans of the Earth. Funeral Services will be held at Northside Baptist Church at Friday August 26, 2011 at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Tin Top Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday August 25, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. In lieu of flowers the family request that monetary gifts be left in his honor to the Hubert & Willie Bennett Scholarship Fund at Weatherford College.
