WEATHERFORD -- Thomas Eldridge Mears Jr., 72, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at his home in Weatherford. A memorial service will be held in Roswell, N.M. at a later date. Thomas was born in Portales, N.M. on Nov. 6, 1941. He attended Portales High School and Eastern New Mexico University. He married Glenda ?Glen? Lamont Gleaton on May 22, 1970. Thomas was a 2nd Lieutenant in the New Mexico Army National Guard. He made his career as a banker and later became a high school Economics and Government teacher in Roswell, N.M. He ended his career as a Parole officer with the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice. Thomas was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Roswell. He was an avid sports fan and he was happiest spending time with his beloved family and his dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Eldridge Mears, II and Ruby Webb Mears. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Glenda; his two daughters, Kari Melissa Roller and her husband, Chris Charles Roller of Butner, N.C. and Erin Gayle Meintel and her husband, Marc Meintel of Albstadt, Germany; grandchildren, Mason Charles Roller, Spencer Thomas Roller, Lauren Rose Meintel and Evan Marc Meintel; sister-in-law, Sharon White Mantelli; nephews, Bryan Lee White and Jimmy Mark White and his wife, Kimberly White with their son, Preston James White; sister, Carol Staggs and her husband, Al Staggs; and nieces, Christa Buff and her husband, Austin Buff and Lisa Stephens.White's Funeral HomeWeatherford, 817-596-4811
