MINERAL WELLS -- Linda Laree Bates passed away peacefully June 9, 2014, with her family by her side. Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland Park Cemetery, Mineral Wells. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice. Linda was born August 20, 1938 in Mineral Wells to Virgil and Corene Fox. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School and worked for Chilton's Credit Bureau for 14 years, receiving many awards and gifts for outstanding work in the collection department. In 1973, she married Frank Bates and they were part owners in Simms Lumber Company in Mineral Wells and Weatherford for over 25 years, working side by side until his retirement. Linda was a life long member of the Church of Christ. The most important things in her life were her God, family and mostly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she literally adored. She was preceded in death by her mother; her father; and husband of 32 years, Frank Bates. Linda is survived by: Daughter, Pamela Corbett of Waco; son, Bill Stout and wife, Linda, of Glen Rose; grandchildren, H. K. Simmon and wife, Julie, of Waco, Brooke W. McDuff and husband, Ronnie, of Waco, Jennifer Ann Mayo and husband, Kyle, of Weatherford and Nicole Corene Stout of Powhatan, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Kealie Laree, Drayton, Peyton, Madeline and Brandt.White's Funeral HomeMineral Wells, 940-325-3311
