WEATHERFORD -- J. C. (Joe) Fritts, 89, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 at his home.
Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m. Monday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Interment: 3:30 p.m. Monday in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche.
Joe was born August 2, 1925 in Comanche to Calvin and Edna Mae Fritts. He married Bettye Jo Smith on January 10, 1951 in Comanche. Joe and Bettye have made Weatherford their home since 1952. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart for his bravery. Joe retired from the Department of Public Safety where he worked as a License and Weight Patrolman. He was a Mason and a member of North Side Baptist Church.
Joe was a loving husband to Bettye and a wonderful father to his three daughters. He was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed by all.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Edna Mae Fritts; brothers, Travis and Glen Fritts; and Glen's wife, Frances Fritts.
Survivors: His wife, Bettye Fritts; three daughters, Deborah, Linda and Nancy Fritts; sons-in-law, Billy Pate and Russell Whatley; sister, Mary Wilson; one niece; beloved Schnauzer, Izzy, three Grand Schnauzers, Sparky, Scooter and Sassy and grand-dog, Lucky, all of whom loved him unconditionally.
