WEATHERFORD -- David William Ellis, 73, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at a Fort Worth Hospital.
Graveside Inurnment: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.
Visitation: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
David was born June 24, 1941 in Racine, WI, son of the late Bert R. Ellis and Grace Fritchen Ellis. He graduated from Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin in 1959. David joined the United States Army in 1960, proudly and honorably serving his country in Germany. After his service he took over his father-in-law's sausage shop in Racine, Wisconsin. David later left that business to work at Kemen Sausage in Kenosha, Wisconsin for many years as a butcher, before relocating to Texas where he lived the rest of his life.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting and walking his dog, Charlie. He loved God, his country and his family.
Because of David's love of animals, the family plans to honor his memory by making a donation to Parker Paws.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Daughters, Jane Weyenberg and husband, George and Jody Persky and husband, Neal; grandchildren, Sarah Mitchell and husband, Gage, Sandra Weyenberg, Trent Persky and Ella Persky; sister, Dona Lee Reeves; niece, Carrie Long and husband, Wayland; great-nieces, Libby Long and Abby Long; great-nephew, Binion Long.
