FORT WORTH -- Dora Mae Atteberry, 94, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend and longtime resident of Millsap, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: Poe Prairie Cemetery. Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at White's Funeral Home.
Dora Mae was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Parker County, daughter of Frank and Mary McCoy Followill. She was a loving mother and was very active in her children's schools and in the community. Dora Mae was the founding president of the Millsap Home and Garden Club. She received many honors through the club and was awarded a lifetime membership. Dora Mae was a member of the Iris Society. She was a longtime member and held several offices in the Millsap Community Center organization and was a reservationist for many years. Dora Mae received the Community Builders Award for distinguished service to the Millsap community, presented by Masonic Lodge #1265.
Her family was always her No. 1 priority, and she loved each and every one of them with all of her heart.
Dora Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Followill; her husband of 50 years, Woodrow W. Atteberry; and a daughter, Margaret Sue Chandler.
Survivors: Daughters, Catherine Hartness and Bettye Boisselier; grandchildren, Carla Chandler, Tammy Rice, Sherri Kolar, Pam Wooten, Gregg Hartness, LeeAnn Hartness and Michelle Boisselier; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
