Gary Lyle Byrd, 71, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle from Frontotemporal Dementia or Pick's Disease.
Service: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at The First United Methodist Church of Weatherford.
Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home.
Inurnment: will be at a later date in Memory Gardens of the Valley.

Gary was born June 3, 1943, in Brownwood, Texas, son of A.D. and Leota Jones Byrd. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching sports and John Wayne movies. He was an avid Texas Rangers fan and attended many of their games.
Gary honorably served in the United States Army from 1964-1966, stationed in Germany. He was a life-long salesman, working for the Ked's Division of Uniroyal Incorporated and Stride Rite Corporations for 26 years. He then was employed with Jerry Durant Auto Group of Weatherford for 16 years in New Car Sales and Commercial/Fleet Sales. Gary loved being around people and sharing stories; never meeting a stranger. His favorite thing most of all was coaching and cheering on his children's sports. Gary continued his passion by supporting his grandchildren in all of their sporting and academic activities. Gary was President of the Duncanville Pony Boys' Baseball Program, served on the Duncanville Parks and Recreation Board, and was a member of the Weatherford Evening Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Leota Jones Byrd; and brother, Donnie Byrd.
Survived by his wife of 48 years, Rebecca Hurst Byrd; sons, Kevin Byrd and wife, Amy of Saginaw, Michael Byrd and wife, Jennifer of Weatherford; and daughter, Lacy Phillips Tiner and husband, Scott of Weatherford; sister and brother-in-law, Aubrey and Linda Sue Cox; and sister-in-law, Beth Byrd; seven grandchildren; and one niece and several nephews.
