Robert Birth, 91, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Weatherford.
Robert was born August 1, 1923 in Edmond, OK to the late Royal and Ona Birth. He married the love of his life, Leota Berkstresser, December 30, 1944 in Edmond, OK. Robert was an avid golfer, loved bowling and playing horseshoes. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist in Guthrie, OK and a United States Navy veteran. He served in World War 11 in the Pacific. He was involved in the battles of Guadal Canal and Guam. In 1953 he moved to Midland and founded Permian Sign Company. The sign company still operates today in the Permian Basin.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors: Wife, Leota Birth; sons, James Birth and wife Sheila, Robert Birth and wife, Nancy; Grandchildren, Tiffany Cockburn and husband, Brad, Chelsey Patterson and husband, John, Brandon Birth, Brett Birth; sister-in-law, Winiford Birth; great grandchildren, Taylor Cockburn, Baylee Cockburn, Addison Patterson, and Nash Patterson.
