ALEDO -- Dennis Roger Hinkle, 74, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loved ones, after a short and unexpected battle with cancer.
Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Aledo Brown Cemetery, Highway 1187, Aledo.
Dennis was born in Milton, West Virginia on September 6, 1940 to Blemma Neal Hinkle and James Froud Hinkle. He grew up in Milton, West Virginia, and attended high school at Milton High School, where he was captain of the football team. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he was a Crew Chief on a B-52, part of Strategic Air Command. While he worked in many fields over the years: oilfield, electrician, lumber mill, his favorite job was at Ace Hardware because he "did it for fun".
Dennis was a hard working man who loved fishing, painting, spending time outdoors and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Dennis is preceded in death by many loved ones.
Survivors: He is survived by daughters, Kim Smith and husband, Doug and Krystal Jackson and husband, Ben, grandchildren, Hallie and Alana Smith and Madigan and Blaine Jackson; and many friends and extended family.
