WEATHERFORD -- Reba Calhoun, mother, grandmother and teacher passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, 21 days shy of her 98th birthday.
Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Ash Creek Cemetery, 300 S. Stewart St., Azle.
Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Reba was born September 7, 1917 to the late Hunt and Evelena Woody Scoggin, in the Sabathney Community. She was the granddaughter of Parker County pioneers, Samuel "Red Sam" Woody and Mary "Mollie White" Woody.
Reba graduated from Azle High School and attended Brownwood, Arlington and Weatherford colleges. She started her 37 year teaching career in Lone Camp, where she met and married Oscar Calhoun. Reba taught 35 years in Springtown before retiring. She was a member of Parker County Home Extension and loved to travel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hunt and Evelena Scoggin; sister, Oma Lee Scoggin; husband, Oscar Calhoun; and son, Larry Calhoun.
Survivors: Son, Don Calhoun and wife, Doris, of Azle; daughter-in-law, Elsie Calhoun of Weatherford; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members, friends and former students.
