Pat Holmes, age 94, of Weatherford, TX, passed away at Baylor All Saints In Care Hospice Unit in Fort Worth, TX, on August 29, 2015.
Graveside service to be held at the Memory Gardens of the Valley on Monday, August 31st at 9AM.
Visitation from 5 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 30th at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford, TX.
Pat was born in Fort Worth, TX, on August 4, 1921, to Rosa Jane Nicholson Tackett and Carl William Tackett.
Pat was a high school graduate of Brock High School in 1939. She went to work for the USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Parker County in 1946 and remained there for 36 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, she served on the agricultural committees for ASCS and Soil Conservation Service and volunteered at the Weatherford Hospital. She has been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford for many years. Pat had a deep love of God, family, farm and her cows. She loved getting up at the crack of dawn and working on her place and staying busy. She was quite a character and will be greatly missed by her family and close friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Jordan Holmes, son, Jerry DeWayne Holmes; sisters, Anna Marie Tackett Janzen, Evelyn Tackett Michou and Carcelle Tackett Golden.
Survivors: Granddaughter, Elizabeth ‘Lyn' Holmes Scott and husband, Vernon L. Scott of College Station, TX; grandson, Matthew Jordan Holmes and wife, Natalie K. Holmes of Austin, TX; great-grandson Nathan Brant Scott and wife, Jenna L. Scott of College Station, TX; great-granddaughter Emma Caroline Holmes and great-grandson, Ethan Jordan Holmes of Austin, TX; daughter-in-law, Cathie L. Holmes of Franklin, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
