WEATHERFORD -- Wortham Randolph (Randy) Bell, Sr., 94, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Macula Vision Research Foundation.
Mr. Bell was born November 30, 1920 in Fort Worth. He graduated from Beckville High School. Mr. Bell worked for Consolidated Air Craft in San Diego during WWII. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1945, serving in Germany. He met Marian Warnecke while in Germany and they were married in Chicago on January 16, 1948. Mr. Bell was a longtime scout leader for his family of 5 Eagle Scouts. He was the first Fire Chief for the Oak Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Bell retired from General Dynamics after 38 years in the aircraft industry.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marian Bell.
Survivors: Sons, Wortham R. Bell, Jr. and wife, Gail, and James Bell and wife, Lynn; grandchildren, Randall B. Bell, Lisa McLaughlin and husband, Gerald, Christopher Bell and wife, Whitney, Michael Bell and wife, Amber, and Mark Bell; 3 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 8 great great-grandchildren.
