Ethelda Riggs

WEATHERFORD -- Ethelda Riggs, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Iredell. Ethelda was born August 14, 1924 to Robert Henry and Ruth Tyler Pierce in Noodle. She loved traveling in their motor home for vacations throughout Colorado and New Mexico where they attended blue grass music festivals. Ethelda also loved gardening and farming. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James H. Pierce and Melvin C. Pierce; sisters, Juanita Pyeatt and Mary Pierce. Survivors: Husband, Pete Riggs; daughters, Ellen Allen and husband, Dan, Sandra Bush and husband, Jimmy, Norma Risky and husband, Jim and Ronnie Riggs; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; niece, Diana Tutor and husband, Bobby; one great-niece; three great great-nieces; and many other loving family members and friends.
