William B “Okie” Kling went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 19, 2016, surrounded by his family.
A memorial service is 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Knights of Pythian Hall, 614 Pythian Way, in Mineral Wells.
He was born in Wynnewood, Okla., on Dec. 15, 1930, to John and Ruby Kling. He married Pat Parks on Nov. 4, 1959. They moved to Mineral Wells in 1962. He worked for Southern Airways, then retired from the City of Mineral Wells after 15 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard.
He is survived by Pat, his wife of 56 years; sister, Lavita Aaron (Walter); brother, Jack Kling; children, Yvonne Clinton (Clifford), Craig Smith (Beverly), Teresa Harrold and Ruby Kling Roden (James); grandchildren, Kathleen Young (Ricky), Jason Clinton (Crystal), Elizabeth Gray (Juston), Cody Kling (Katie), Keisha Head (Justin), Marissa Godwin (Clay), Eric Clinton, Kayla Reeves, Charla Roden, Colby Clinton and Karissa Smith; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ashlyn, Natalie, Nathan, Kaydence, Briley, Bailee, Auston, Brady, Aidon, Colton, Kyla, Brynlee, Megan, Anson, Casey Jr., Casen, Nick and Cody; his special fur buddy, “Lil Joe”; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; beloved Aunt Dorothy; brother, Wendell; son-in-law, Craig; and great-granddaughter, Megan.
