Garry Wayne Boswell

Garry Wayne Boswell went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 21, 2016, surrounded by his family. Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30th at the First United Methodist Church of Weatherford, 301 S. Main St. in Weatherford, TX. He was born in Woodlake, CA to Glenn L. and Velma M. Boswell on Nov. 6, 1946. He graduated from the University of the Pacific and followed with a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.  In 1969 he married Barbara Jonte. They moved from California to Texas, Illinois, Nebraska, and eventually settled in Weatherford, TX in 2008. They had two children with whom they shared a love of travel and learning. Garry served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, including service in Vietnam, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. Professionally, he excelled in pharmaceutical research. In retirement he enjoyed his family, woodworking and travel. He is preceded in death by his mother, Velma Mae Boswell. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara; children, Glenn H. Boswell, Linnea Welch and husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Eleanor and Garrison Welch; his father, Glenn; and sisters, Jeanette and Cheryl; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
